“There is no forgiveness” – Manchester United player slammed by journalist in rant

As Flamengo supporters are still hurt by their loss in the Copa Libertadores final, it’s of course impossible for them not to think about Andreas Pereira.

The Manchester United owned player made a mistake in extra time which led to Palmeiras’ late goal, and despite getting support from his club since then, he’s still being slammed by some fans and media.

The latest rant we see about the play comes from UOL journalist Mauro Cezar Pereira. On their latest podcast, he talked about the weight of Pereira’s error and how much it cost Flamengo.

“The mistake Andreas made is unforgivable. There is no forgiveness,” said Mauro Cezar Pereira.

“If I’m an executive at a company run by one of them, and I make a million-dollar loss, am I forgiven if I cry? I’m out on the street, brother. I take a kick on the ass and I’m on the street. Maybe even for gross misconduct.

“Andreas made a mistake that brought losses. That’s lack of attention.”

When apologising to Flamengo fans on social media, Pereira explained he’ll still work until the end of his loan spell from Manchester United to win the fans over.

Mauro Cezar, however, points out that the Rio de Janeiro club will only play irrelevant matches between now and the summer, when the player returns to Manchester United, as the Brazilian season starts in January.

So it’s fair to say that the chances of a permanent move are now a lot lower than they used to be.
