While the main topic of conversation around the NFL world this week will be the AFC and NFC Championship Games in search of the two tickets to Super Bowl LVI next Sunday, February 13 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California, there is another topic that is getting almost as much attention, the future of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.
Brady and the defending champions were eliminated at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round despite coming back from 24 points down in the second half only to see Matt Gay connect on the clinching field goal to make the score 30-27.
Brady's words on the Podcat "Let's Go!"
After the loss, Brady said very little about his thought process around whether or not he will return at age 45 for the 2022 NFL season, however, in his weekly appearance on the "Let's Go!" podcast along with host Jim Gray, the stellar quarterback talked about his wife, Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen and their children and how they will be key in whether or not he decides to continue his athletic career.
"It pains her (Gisele Bündchen) to see me get hit out there," Brady said. "And she deserves what she needs from me as a husband and my kids deserve what they need from me as a dad."? Tampa Bay Buccaneers (@Buccaneers) January 24, 2022
"Playing football I get so much joy from. I love it. But not playing football, there's a lot of joy in that for me also now, too, with my kids getting older and seeing them develop and grow. So all these things need to be considered and they will be."
Will he play for a team other than the Buccaneers?
Even if Brady decides not to retire, he could decide to play for a team other than the Buccaneers, but what is clear to the quarterback is that he has a commitment to Tampa Bay.
Tom Brady on his Let's Go podcast. "The team doesn't deserve anything less than my best. And if I feel like Im not committed to that, or I cant play at a championship level, then you gotta give someone else a chance to play. And, you know, well see."? Rick Stroud (@NFLSTROUD) January 25, 2022
